Steffanie is in her seventh year of teaching, with the current school year being her first in Ashland as the band director at Ashland Middle School/assistant band director at Paul Blazer High School. Prior to Ashland, Steffanie served as the band and choir director at McKell Middle School in South Shore, Kentucky.
Steffanie holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Morehead State University and is currently a candidate for National Board Certification for Teachers. She currently serves as the Technology Chair for Kentucky Music Educators Association [KMEA] District 8, and was the Middle School Band Chair (2021-2023).
Steffanie is a two-time Kentucky Department of Education/Valvoline Teacher Achievement Award winner (2021, 2022) and the KMEA District 8 Middle School Teacher of the Year (2019, 2021).
Steffanie’s ensembles consistently receive distinguished and proficient ratings at state concert band assessments and solo/ensemble festivals, and achieve top or principal chairs in district honor bands.
