Steffanie Skiles, born in Huntington, West Virginia is an accomplished freelance trumpet player, award-winning educator and sound engineer/designer. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Morehead State University (2017).
While in college, Steffanie was introduced to audio engineering and design. Pursuing the content relentlessly, she spent her time during the school year as a sound engineer and designer for the music and theatre departments, and her summers at the Stephen Foster Story. Steffanie has worked as a sound designer and sound engineer in both theatrical and live music settings. Additionally, she has minor recording studio experience.
Steffanie's current adventure is in the public school system, now in her ninth year of teaching. Here, Steffanie shares her passion and journey with music, hoping to inspire the next generation of arts advocates and musicians.
Despite her busy full-time schedule, Steffanie still finds time to work in both music and theatre, be it playing trumpet or running sound.
Her professional affiliations include the: National Association for Music Education, Kentucky Music Educators Association, Women Band Directors International, Southeastern Theater Conference, and National Society of Collegiate Scholars (Alumna).
